Sylvie Monette

Sylvie Monette is Vice-President of Finance and Corporate Controller at Cirque du Soleil. Previously, she was Vice-President of Financial Reporting and Control at KDC/One; in this role she successfully led the organization’s finance function transformation, which included the conversion from IFRS® Accounting Standards to U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. From 2006 to 2021, Sylvie worked at KPMG, where she was named partner and led the Accounting Advisory Services practice for the Quebec region.

During her 32 years of practising as a Chartered Professional Accountant, Sylvie has performed several functions for a variety of private and public entities, including retail, distribution, manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, and energy and natural resources. Owing to her diverse work experience and familiarity with accounting standards, she has an in-depth understanding of their impact on people, systems, and operations.

Sylvie is actively involved in community efforts. She is the Executive Sponsor of Cirque du Soleil’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She has been a member of KPMG’s National Inclusion and Diversity Executive Council, was a recipient of KPMG’s 2016 National Community Leadership Award, and was the 2017 Finaliste Femmes d’Affaires du Québec.
