Stacy Hammett is Senior Director, Inspections and Audit Standards Leader at the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Canada’s audit regulator (2019 to present). She is also the Vice-Chair of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators Standards Coordination Working Group (IFIAR SCWG) (2019 to present). This group is responsible for establishing a forum for IFIAR members to share views and concerns about pronouncements from the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants. She has been the CPAB representative on the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council since 2022.
Stacy has over 20 years’ experience providing audit and assurance services to a range of clients at multinational professional services firms. Before joining CPAB, she was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the assurance practice and held various subject-matter-expert roles in the firm's national assurance, risk and quality, and independence groups (2001 to 2019). Stacy represented PwC on the CPA Canada Advisory Group on the Implementation of Canadian Auditing Standards from 2011 to 2016 and contributed to publications for audit practitioners and those charged with governance. She started her career at BDO (1997 to 2001).
Stacy has a bachelor of administration (1997) and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (2000).
