Richard is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Fellow) and Chartered Financial Analyst with over 25 years of investment research and capital markets experience. He has significant expertise in strategy formulation and operational efficiency and effectiveness. Richard currently serves as a Board member / Investment adviser to organizations including the Peter Cundill Foundation and Canada Overseas Investment Ltd.

Previously, he held senior leadership roles at RBC Capital Markets, a top-10 global investment bank including Chief Operating Officer with overall responsibility for the firm’s operating and administrative functions on a worldwide basis; and Co-Head of Global Research. During his time at RBC CM, he was consistently ranked the number one research analyst in his sector by institutional investors and led RBC CM’s Research team to the number one ranking for Canadian Equity Research.

Richard is active in the accounting profession and the local community. He is Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Industry Standards Reporting Research Council (ISRRC) which works to create international standards for the reporting of alternative performance measures. Richard serves on the Boards of Second Harvest and Royal St. George’s College. He is a past Board member of CFA Society Toronto, United Way Toronto MIG cabinet and Women in Capital Markets (Advisory Council).

Richard holds undergraduate and graduate degrees (with honours) in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School.
