Trust and Relationship Building with Indigenous Peoples

The CSSB approved and began a tailored 12-month multimodal and multidisciplinary educational program for Board members and staff to build competency in the distinct worldviews and cultures, histories, and social and governance models of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The program uses a distinction and land-based approach.

The CSSB approved an internal “Guiding Principles and Values” document focused on reconciliation, reciprocity, and co-creativity with Indigenous Peoples. This document will support the development of a strategic pillar focused on respectful and authentic engagement with First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across all the Board’s work.
