Strategic Plan

Strategic plans set out the strategic priorities that will guide the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB) in achieving its public interest mandate over a multi-year period. The CSSB decides on strategic priorities after extensive consultation. Implementation plans to execute these strategic priorities will be described in the CSSB’s annual plans.

Proposed 2025-2028 Strategic Plan Consultation

On January 7, 2025, the CSSB will invite public feedback on its inaugural Strategic Plan for 2025-2028, outlining priorities for advancing sustainability disclosure standards in Canada.

This includes establishing Canadian reference standards aligned with global frameworks, advancing Indigenous Peoples' inclusion in sustainability standard-setting, and contributing to international standards development.

The plan will reflect a commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and addressing Canada's unique sustainability disclosure challenges while fostering global alignment. Feedback will shape the final strategy, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of stakeholders and supports high-quality, decision-useful sustainability disclosure standards.

The public will be invited to provide input until April 7, 2025. A variety of avenues to provide feedback will be provided.
