Christine Wiedman

Christine Wiedman is Professor Emerita of Accounting, with over 30 years of experience in academe, holding appointments at the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo, the Ivey Business School at Western University, and the Mason School of Business at William & Mary. She was recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2006. 

Christine has published widely in leading academic and professional accounting and business journals on topics related to financial reporting, fraud, and governance. In addition to numerous academic conference presentations, she has been invited to present her research to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Ontario Securities Commission, the Bank of Canada, and the Accounting Standards Oversight Council.  

Christine served as a member of the Accounting Standard Board’s Academic Advisory Council from 2005 to 2017.

Christine holds a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Cornell University.
