Are you part of the financial statement user community? Do you value decision-useful and reliable financial information?
Want to help the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) better understand how users of financial statements make informed decisions?
If so, the AcSB needs you on its User Advisory Committee!
About the User Advisory Committee
The Committee assists the AcSB by providing feedback at all phases of standard-setting projects and during priority setting. The Committee provides views and observations that are particularly helpful to the AcSB in evaluating the potential benefits and pitfalls of proposed new and revised presentation and disclosure requirements.
Committee members are from across the country with a variety of backgrounds representing several investment and analytical disciplines, including investors and investment professionals, credit granters in financial institutions, and equity and credit analysts.
The Committee aims to reflect the broad diversity of the population of users of financial statements. Committee members are expected to have an in-depth knowledge of the financial information users require to make informed decisions.

- Be in the know – learn about impending changes or emerging issues in financial reporting before they impact you.
- Shape the standards – help shape financial reporting requirements, including disclosures, by sharing your real-world expertise.
- Gain new perspectives – learn from other experts and broaden your understanding of IFRS® Accounting Standards and other listed entity reporting requirements.
- Be part of a network – form connections with Committee members representing a range of experiences and locations across the country.
About the role
Committee members are expected to prepare for and participate in three meetings per year. Meetings are run using a hybrid approach (with in-person and virtual attendance option), however in-person attendance is strongly encouraged for all committee members.
Appointments are generally for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
Out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The working language of the Committee is English.
