About the Committee
The Academic Advisory Committee keeps the AcSB fully informed of academic research in areas relevant to setting accounting standards. The Committee also ensures that academic research programs benefiting the standard-setting process are developed on a timely basis.
Committee members are accounting educators and published researchers from across the country with a variety of interest areas. The Committee aims to reflect the broad diversity of the Canadian academic accounting landscape.

About the role
- Membership is effective March 31, 2024, for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewing for a second term.
- There will be approximately one or two video conference meetings per year, each two to four hours in length.
- There will be at least one full-day, in-person meeting per year that will take place in Toronto.
- Members are expected to prepare and participate in all meetings.
- Out-of-pocket expenses, including travel costs, will be reimbursed.
- The working language of the Committee is English.
To maintain a balance of member experience on the Committee, this year we are specifically seeking the following applicants:
- Academics conducting research using qualitative (interviews and field studies) and/or experimental approaches.
