The Accounting Standards Oversight Council (AcSOC) is pleased to announce that current Vice-Chair, Armand Capisciolto, FCPA, FCA, will serve as AcSB’s interim Chair from September 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
He takes over from current Chair Linda Mezon-Hutter, FCPA, FCA, CPA (MI), CGMA who joins the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) as member in September 2022.
Armand will be taking on this role while continuing as National Accounting Standards Partner at BDO Canada, LLP.
Armand has extensive knowledge and experience with the Canadian financial reporting frameworks, servicing private and public companies, not-for-profit organizations, pension plans, and public sector entities. Armand has been on the AcSB Board since November 2009 and was appointed Vice Chair in April 2019. He is a past Chair of the AcSB’s Private Enterprise Advisory Committee and a past member of the AcSB’s IFRS Discussion Group and the Public Sector Accounting Board’s Public Sector Accounting Discussion Group.
The search for a permanent AcSB Chair is ongoing, with a permanent Chair expected to be appointed by the fall.
