Volunteer Opportunity – Field-test Selected Requirements in the AASB’s Exposure Draft, “Proposed Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4250, Compilation Engagements on Future-oriented Financial Information and Pro Forma”

We are seeking practitioners from firms of all sizes to field-test selected requirements in our Exposure Draft, “Proposed CSRS 4250, Compilation Engagements on Future-oriented Financial Information and Pro Forma” (ED-CSRS 4250).

Our objective with field-testing is to obtain real-time input on whether select requirements and related application material are implementable and understandable. Practitioners play a crucial role in the field-testing process.

Key details for volunteers

  • Anticipated time commitment:
Field-testing is expected to take approximately 10-15 hours.
  • Process:
    1) AASB staff will provide pre-reading material and hold a virtual education session to help participants begin the field test. The education session will include discussion of the proposed changes in ED-CSRS 4250 to help participants bridge their knowledge of performing compilation engagements on future-oriented financial information (i.e., projections and forecasts) and pro forma.
    2) Participants will field-test select requirements in ED-CSRS 4250 on one to two samples of their compilation engagement files. AASB staff will provide a spreadsheet to track field-testing results. Please ensure that all entity and client-specific information is redacted.
    3) We will hold a virtual debrief meeting, during which all participants and AASB staff will discuss the aggregate results.
  • Key dates:
October 23 - Information session for participants
November 13 - Optional drop-in session for field-testing questions from participants
    December 11 - Debrief meeting
