Assurance and Related Services Standards (other than CASs)

Future-oriented Financial Information

The AASB discussed the way forward in revising two existing Assurance and Related Services Guidelines (AuGs):

  • AuG-6, Examination of a Financial Forecast or Projection Included in a Prospectus or Other Public Offering Document, and
  • AuG-16, Compilation of a Financial Forecast or Projection

The AASB decided that its priority should be to develop a project proposal to revise AuG-16, given the Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements issued in February 2020. The Board agreed that staff perform preliminary research and information gathering to identify the public interest issues to consider when revising the Guideline.

A project to revise AuG-6 will be considered later.
