Joel Humphrey

Joel Humphrey is a partner at Freelandt Caldwell Reilly LLP where he leads the firm’s accounting and assurance practice with a focus on advising small to medium sized private enterprises (SME) on all financial aspects of their business. His role and experience have provided him with a pulse on the issues and challenges facing the entrepreneurial community in Canada.

As the firm’s professional practice leader, Joel is responsible for quality control, supporting the firm in the application of Canadian Auditing Standards and accounting frameworks while overseeing the firm’s information and emerging technology strategy.

Joel obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2006 with KPMG LLP where he led audit assignments of publicly listed software and technology companies involving complex Canadian and U.S. accounting and assurance matters.  With KPMG LLP, Joel completed his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation in 2009 and worked as a specialist to assist clients manage IT risk while providing technical support to the firm’s assurance teams.

Joel graduated from Carleton University in 2003.
